The story goes like this: there was a little boy who came home from church services. His mother took him but his father never would go. It would puzzle the little boy at why his father would never go to services. This day, when the boy came home, the father was going to see what the boy was learning. The father asked, "How was church today?" The little boys eyes shined as he said, "You know what we learned?" The father said, "No! What?" The little boy said, "We learned that God drowned a whole army of Egyptians in the sea!" The father responded, "Son, I have to tell you the truth. It has been discovered by scientists that at the place where the Israelites crossed the sea, the water was only 6 inches deep." The little boy looked puzzled for a few minutes, then with a big smile said."WOW! That is amazing how God drowned a whole army with 6 inches of water!"
Children have the most pure and innocent thought processes. They show us God many times. I love being around little children! No wonder Jesus, when His disciples asked, "Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" (Matthew 18:3), calls a child to Himself, sets him before them and says, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:2-3) We need to learn how to trust and follow purity in our attitudes and mind set. We need to learn to be humble as a child. They teach us how to trustingly and humbly live and Jesus knows it!
