"Forgiven"

God is willing to forgive our sins. Isn't that what I John 1:9 speaks?"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is willing but we must be willing to confess there is something that needs to be forgiven!
Too many are trying to explain why they sin rather than confess. We blame the moment, our weaknesses, our childhood rearing, our friends, our culture and the list seems to go on countless. When we have arrived at our explanations, it all become clear - we had no choice! We had to sin therefore we are not responsible. This is the very mindset of so many.
The reason many never find the forgiveness that leads to salvation is because we look every where and to everyone but God. When will we believe what Jesus said about the low-life, money cheating tax collector? He was unwilling to even lift up his eyes to heaven, beating his own chest saying "...God be merciful to me, the sinner!" (Luke 18:13) There was nothing to say and everything to confess. In Christ Jesus we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing (Eph. 1:3). But there is more, much more than that. We need to grasp those blessings but we cannot understand their significance until we come into the forgiveness of our sinfulness. We have more than just every spiritual blessing! We have God and His life within us in Jesus Christ. That life giving Lord and Savior shed His blood in atoning for our sins. In Jesus, our sins are dealt with, not simply in ones and twos, but the whole! Sins seen and unseen. Sins of speech and thought, sins of doing and not doing, sins of the flesh and mind, sins in secret and open, sins of the eyes and ears...THEY ALL HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH IN JESUS! Across our record is written: PAID IN FULL!
Take some serious thought to what has happened to you. If you are in Christ (a baptized believer), you are Christ's. Take hold. Believe! Confess! You're sins have been taken off the scroll!

I strongly agree with you on this, as with most things. Too many people blame their present selves on their childhood or lack thereof. If this was the case for all of us, this world would be much, much worse than what it is, myself included. We should all turn our lives over to the Lord and enjoy the many blessings he has given us,forgiveness of our sins being only one.Thank you for taking the time to do this! It's just one more way for me to continue my walk with the Lord faithfully, and to keep in touch with those that helped me get where I am today!!
